WATCH OUT FOR THE GRENADES

Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd once said:

It’s great to want to be part of something, but it’s a different thing completely…to give everything for that something.

We always want different things. Some of us shoot for the stars because we believe that we deserve only the best. Other times, we yearn for things that are easy and reachable and safe because we are not yet ready to handle the biggest disappointments, the kind that trigger sleepless nights, dark encircled eyes and pure absence of mind.

But once you’re given the opportunity to do what you’ve always wanted, see the one you most desired and celebrate the very essence of such longing that seeps through your veins, you grab it. You grab it like you’ve never grabbed before.

And then all your inhibitions, your doubts, and your restlessness that bug your mind forever will eventually fade away.

Just like that. Then, pure bliss.

So, who am I to let this chance to see something beautiful go?

On March 9, 2008, my world would halt for a night. There will be a deafening silence in the streets and only the gush of the wind can escape to disturb the quiet reality. Faceless people will surround this sweet existence, talking on mute.

At the right moment, the celestial stage opens wide and hails one of the hottest, most talented demigods to walk on earth, assisted by his equally divine friends.

And then, I’ll wish I’m worthy enough to bow down before him.
